Grieving Treatments

(For more information about other Treatments with Leta, see Treatments.)

The loss of a loved one is one of the hardest things any of us ever has to face.

Other than the initial funeral or memorial rituals, our culture does not pay much attention to those who are undergoing a grieving process. For this reason, some of us may continue to be grieving even years after a loved one’s death.

The Chinese believe that it’s very important to walk through specific stages of grief in order to fully recover from the loss of a loved one (a process they believe should take approximately one year to complete). They believe that grief gives us a chance to contemplate what we have lost and, as a result, grow and change. For these reasons, they have specific energetic treatments to help anyone who feels stuck in that process.

Someone may consider such a treatment at any point after the death of a loved one, including within the first month, many months later, on the first anniversary, or even years later if the person still feels in shock or traumatized by the loss.

The process of grieving moves us through the following stages:

  • The receiving of the initial news, which includes a need to forgive ourselves for anything we think we could have done differently.
  • The shock and disbelief and ensuing intense sadness. This is the stage of mourning, which is dealing with the frustration and constraint around how to adjust to such a huge change—the fact that the days and nights will never be the same.
  • Next comes the anger. Anger about the circumstances surrounding the death of a loved one, or even anger at the Divine’s role in the person’s death (depending on our religious/spiritual views). Anger is a key component in the stages of grief, and a place where lots of people get stuck.
  • After the anger comes a state of detachment, where we regain some sense of control over our lives.
  • After detachment, we come to understand that death is a natural part of life. We begin remember the loved one’s voice, and we appreciate their continued presence in our lives through such memories. Then we realize we must let go in order to move on.
  • Finally we realize we are still connected to the person by our love bond. We know we’ll always be connected. Depending on our beliefs about death, we may believe we will be reconnected after death or that the person’s spirit is always with us. But at the very least, we feel a sense of peace and gratitude and remember all the reasons why we loved having the person in our lives. We accept death and continue on.

The treatments for Grieving recognize that sometimes we get stuck at any point along this path. They ease us through these sticking places so that we can get to total acceptance and peace with the loss of a loved one. The treatment can be done in a longer session (typically 3 hours) or in several one hour sessions. It is best to discuss with Leta a plan for this type of treatment that suits your needs.

Who Would Benefit from Receiving a Grieving Treamtent?

I generally recommend grieving treatments in the following situations:

  • Any recent significantly difficult  loss of a loved one.
  • Anyone struggling with not getting over this loss.
  • The first anniversary of the loss is very key time for moving out of the grieving stages. So it is a good time to consider a grieving treatment, if you haven't already had one.
  • If you are still impacted by the death of a loved one even years afterward, you should consider this treatment and/or the ghost points treatment.
